Not much from us this week
Well, the kids and I haven't done much this week except make a big mess in the house. I guess we have just been lazy all week which doesn't leave me much to write about today. Andrew went to preschool yesterday and he brought home a prize from the treasure chest. They get to go the last week of each month if they have 4 stars on their chart from doing all their work. He is learning his address and phone number and they write it all out each week. He's doing really well with penmanship. He's learning much more than I expected him to at this age. He loves to write words and tries to spell a few of them. Grace is getting better at recognizing her colors. She hasn't been interested in learning to count or her colors but as you saw previously in the video she can now count to 10. She likes to look for colors but gets mixed up a lot so we are working on it almost everyday. Sometimes she will be getting dressed and say, "Mommy, say what color is your shirt Grace?" So I ask her what color her shirt is. She's funny that way, she is always giving us questions to ask her. Hope everyone is having a good week. Andrew and I are still trying to get better so that's probably why we haven't done anything this week. He is still coughing quite a bit but seems to feel fine otherwise and I am still struggling with sinus pressure even after antibiotics for almost a week. Hopefully we will be feeling much better soon and start doing things and taking pictures of it!

Cute Story
Well, it's a cute story to me anyway....
This morning we went to church because I work in the nursery for one of our women's bible study groups and while we (the kids and myself) were in briefing right before prayer, Grace, who is super quiet in her class at church and never shows herself there and all of her teachers and my director (who babysat them in December) think she is a perfect angel said loudly...."Mommy, I have to go poopy!" And off we ran!
Pretty sure I have a lot of grammatical errors in that very long sentence but couldn't help myself. Really didn't know where to break it up! Have a great day!

Or so I thought....
Well, I thought I was back but then I got this ridiculous sinus infection that I wouldn't give in to and go to the doctor until Friday when my face was swollen and felt it was going to explode from all the pressure....too much information? Anyway, I'm finally on the mend after a humidifier, Vick's, constant heat on my face, and lots of fluids. I don't feel great, but better. At some point this week I made a video of Grace counting to 10 so I figured I would get it on here so you would have something to see on my blog. Please excuse the person taking the video...new camera and didn't know what I was doing. Oh, and please excuse her
hair. I know this drives some people crazy when her hair isn't fixed but when we are home I really don't care b/c combing her hair is torture for everyone!
And then there is the video of Andrew counting to 20 but ever since he started counting to 100 he gets confused as you will see....he says 19 and can't figure out what comes next, same thing when he gets to 29, 39, 49, etc. Can't figure out the transition I guess. We are working on it though. Too many numbers in the little guy's head.

I'm Back!
Well, I'm back with lots to talk about but some of it will just have to wait. It's cold and rainy here today and I am still sick. Yep, you heard me.....still sick. Aren't you supposed to start getting better after 10 days? Well, I'm getting worse. Quite frankly, I'm miserable. But you didn't come here to listen to me whine about being sick. Kids are finally starting to feel better. Still congested but better. Coughs aren't quite as bad but you can tell they still don't feel the greatest.
David drove down to work today and got in an accident. He's fine but the truck is banged up. He's pretty upset about it all and nobody stopped as a witness so it's 'he said, she said'. Still waiting to hear from insurance to find out what's going to happen. Just another thing to fix and more money to spend. It could be worse. He's not hurt and that's all that matters. Thankfully he was in the truck and not his little honda (which is also broke down right now).
On good news I just signed up for a scrapbook retreat in May. I am super excited. It's the weekend of my birthday and I can't wait. Yeah, I know that's a long ways away but it will be here before we know it and I will be blogging about it. I've always wanted to do something like this but never thought I could afford it....well, it helps that it falls on my birthday and I have an awesome mommy and hubby that are sending me. Woo hoo! A couple weeks after that we are going on vacation to San Deigo for a week so May is looking like a good month. Well, that's all for now...sorry no pictures. We haven't been in a picture taking mood lately but I will try to get a video of Grace counting to 10 and get it on here soon. It's so cute!

Short Break
Just popping in to say I'm taking a short break. I know I don't blog everyday anyway but I won't be blogging again until at least Tuesday. We have a lot going on around here and would appreciate your prayers. The kids are sick and I have been a little sick as well. Have a great weekend and I'll 'see' you next week!

Princess Wordless Wednesday (well, almost)
This is how Grace wants to dress everyday. This morning she wanted to wear her princess nightgown to take Andrew to school. I draw the line somewhere! Cinderella is her favorite costume. Thanks daddy for getting me dressed up every evening!

200
So I looked and I have 200 posts since I started my blog. Technically this is 201 but I just realized. Far from being an everyday blog but I think I've done well in less than a year!
Today the kids woke up sick. Not really sick but coughing and runny noses so we couldn't go to church. I called in (I usually work in the nursery on Tuesday mornings during a bible study) and we are just hanging out playing and watching tv. Hopefully naps are on the way soon b/c this mommy is tired from getting up early with a little boy who was coughing so much it woke him up and he couldn't fall back to sleep. Well, just wanted to let you know that I hit 200 posts! Have a blessed day!

Live Giveaway...Zippity by LeapFrog
Go here to enter to win a Zippity by LeapFrog. It's a live giveaway and it won't last long and there will be a winner tomorrow morning!
Baking with the kids
Grace is so fast at everything that I couldn't even get the camera ready and just had to snap the picture all crooked and crazy looking.
The finished product. Cinnamon muffins. This is an old recipe from my mom's family and Grannylou made it with the kids while she was here and they loved them so we made them again today. The kids did great helping me and no fighting over who got to do what. They were just very eager to get their turn. I tried to teach them what a recipe is and ingredients. Didn't get too much into the measuring thing. I'm not the most patient with my kids helping in the kitchen so baby steps and this went fantastic!

A few of my favorite things:
If I had to pick a couple favorite presents this year, this would be one. It's framed music "Jesus Loves Me" from my friend Jenny. She definitely knows me and knows what I like. Every year she is so good at picking out a gift for me. If I walked into the store where she found this I would have gone broke buying a bunch of these with different songs (which I assume they have there). I hung this by my piano and I think it looks wonderful.
Another favorite present (probably my most favorite) is my new camera. My hubby got me a new camera and I love it. It's a Canon powershot and I love that it has image stabilizer and automatic scene detection. I don't have to switch it from indoors to outdoors, daytime, nighttime. LOVE IT!
Of course, I also love my new hair dryer from my mom. I have been needing one b/c mine drys hair very slowly and it drove me crazy. That's just the way it was made. The high setting was more like a low setting on most dryers but my new one is great. It's called smart heat (not sure who makes it) and it has like 6 different settings for synthetic, thin, coarse, and all hair types in between. It's great. I knew she was getting me one but didn't know what it would be and when I dried my hair Christmas Eve all I could think was how that was the last time to use that terrible hair dryer.
I loved everything I got for Christmas: gift cards, chocolate, clothes, plug ins from bath and body works. I'm sure I'm forgetting something but everything was wonderful. I really just wanted to share the framed music with everyone but didn't want to leave anything out. I was so blessed this year with so many wonderful things.

It's a New Year! and a giveaway on another blog
Go here for a giveaway for a cardboard playhouse happening sometime today! Go quickly or it might be gone! There are many more on her site as well!
Nothing really eventful has happened during this new year but it's been busy and well, busy! Grannylou leaves tomorrow and we, especially Grace, will really miss her. I'm really tired still from the holidays and just being so busy and it doesn't seem like it's going to slow down anytime soon. Hopefully I can blog something worth reading soon but I just can't think of anything to really write about. I have a lot of pictures that I can add! Hope your new year is happy!
The kids have been playing with this play doh kitchen almost every day since Grace got it Christmas Eve. I actually took this picture to put on the bin that all the play doh will kept in. The kitchen has a little table that attaches to the side and it's really cute when it's all put together. I tried to upload some more pictures to show you of other things but when I was trying to put them in order I accidentally deleted them so I gave up. Guess that just gives me one more thing to blog about in the next couple days.
