Scrappy Challenge #7

I missed the last 2 weeks of submitting pages to Sketches in Thyme so last night I got busy and finished the one for this week.  It took me forever to complete.  I'm sure laughing with Stephanie and reminiscing by going through a bunch of pictures didn't help!  And, although I didn't get much done we had a lot of fun!

So here is the sketch that Kim gave us for this week:
And here is my take on the sketch:

4th of July scrapbook page

Here is a layout of the kids for 4th of July.  The pictures are from a few years ago and it's not very exciting but I'm submitting it to a Stars and Stripes, and red, white, and blue challenge over at Frosted Designs.

I hope to make some more 4th of July layouts this weekend.  I already made a digital layout with my new Creative Memories software.  I love the new software.  I couldn't figure out my photoshop elements and this is so easy and I can use kits from online.  I don't only have to use the CM kits which is great!

It's a Scrappy Week!

I've been busy scrapping this week and made another page that I am going to link to Frosted Designs. I like finding these challenges and/or sketches b/c it makes me think and get more pages done!
Kim (from Sketches in Thyme) is the hostess and here is the challenge (from her post on Frosted Designs)
This week's challenge is a color challenge. We want to see you put orange, yellow, turquoise, and green together.

So, here is what I came up with!
Hope you are all having a great week! I'm thinking of starting another blog specifically for my scrapbook pages and crafty things that I do. I'll link up to it when I have a chance to start it. It takes a while to get it all set up (at least for me) and then get all my stuff moved over so I'll see how it goes. It will probably be a while so hang in there with me posting all these scrapbook pages here until I figure out what to do!

Another Thursday....Another Sketch!

Week 3 challenge sketch from Sketches in Thyme. Whew! Glad to have it done b/c I really struggled to find the pictures (finally settled on my 3rd set of pics) and then had to find the right paper. Well, I had the right paper all along but I flipped it over to the distressed side and that made all the difference. The other side has beach balls on it and it was just too busy. This one took me a lot longer and I didn't follow the sketch exactly but I used the idea of it! Of course, it's good to think outside the box and be a little different!

So, here is the sketch that Kim gave us this week:And here is what I did:

Scrapbook Sketch #2

This week is sketch challenge #2 over at Sketches in Thyme. Kim found another great sketch and I was very excited to do it but it took a long time for me to even find the time to start it. Once I got started I really struggled. Not really sure why but I just had a hard time putting it all together and what a mess I made! Here is the sketch she gave us:
And here is my take on the sketch:I'm not really liking it that much. It looks all crooked but I think it's just the way the bottom picture was taken and the journaling tag sticking out crooked. I think I could have found a better set of pictures to use and maybe I will try it again with more pictures. I was excited to use these pictures. I cut the birds out using a friends die probably a year ago but just never did the layout. Head on over to Sketches in Thyme and see all the beautiful layouts the Mavens (the design team) came up with!

Scrappy Challenge

Here is a layout sketch I got from Sketches in Thyme, a new blog with scrapbook challenges based on sketches that she gives us. Kim is extremely talented and I've been following her other blog, Memories In Thyme, and saw that this one was starting so I decided to join in the fun! As soon as I saw the sketch for today I knew just the pictures to use and got right to it. So, here is the sketch that she gave us for this week and click HERE to go directly to the page where she shows what her design team came up with based on the sketch!

And here is the page that I came up with based on the sketch!

I'm going to try and do this with each challenge. Can't wait for the next one! I probably won't always get to complete them on the first day but the kids were playing nicely so I sat at the kitchen table and completed it! Always so nice to get to do an entire page with very little interruptions! Thanks Kim for a great layout!

Scrappy Pics

Above: The scrap room. This is where we spent most of our time.
Below: The pages that I completed and layouts I made but some need pics. I completed about 24 layouts. We played some games and just sat and talked and had such a girls weekend. I would have liked to have completed a few more but I also just wanted to relax and not stress about how much I got done but the quality of the finished page.
Here are the prizes/giveaways that I came home with. I used a lot of the things I won so there was even more. Can you believe it? They had awesome prizes.

The cute little book that Priscilla made me for my birthday! Thanks Priscilla, it is so cute! (Sorry the pic is sideways) Celena also gave me a new tape runner that I've been wanting to try out. Awesome!

I also won this Scentsy warmer set for being the first one to complete the challenge of earning 12 merit badges. We had 12 techniques to try on our layouts and I finished first! What an awesome prize. Celena and Priscilla definitely went above and beyond this weekend.
The weekend was awesome and full of fun and laughter! The girls had a cake with candles (31 to be exact) and presents. I can't wait to get all the pictures from Celena and Patty. They were taking pictures like crazy so I only took a few and will get some from them. I've had such a great birthday. We are having pizza and cake tonight with the kids. David got me a bracelet and the kids made me pictures and decorated the house with balloons and streamers and a banner. I also got lotions from Victoria's Secret (thanks Mom!) and a Macy's gift card (thanks Dad and Kathy!).

And I'm Off......

Off to my retreat! I really wish I had something more exciting to post but I've been looking forward to this for so long and everything is finally ready and waiting in the van. Actually it was all ready and in the van last night! I'll be home in about 48 hours and I'll update you! I know you just can't wait to find out all about it...hahahaha! I'll put up some pics of the kids and David as well. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! Thanks mom and David for sending me on this retreat for my birthday (and Wayne for watching the kids so David can work on Friday)! I have such an awesome family!

Scrappy Time

It's finally almost here....scrapbook retreat weekend! We registered a couple months ago and it's finally almost time. I have packed my scrappy stuff and here's some of what I am taking! I'm going to take a smaller bag that sets on top of my large roller bag to hold those extra items that just don't fit anywhere. We leave on Friday and get home on Sunday. Daddy will be holding down the fort and he has lots of fun things planned for the kids.

Sorry this picture is sideways but I was too lazy to go back and fix it when it can be shown either way and it really doesn't matter. I can't wait to go and scrapbook all weekend and of course have some adult time....no kids all weekend! By Sunday I'm sure I will be ready to come back (sure hope they are ready for me since it's my birthday on Sunday! hint hint David).
