100th Day

Today is the 100th day of school for Andrew.  In kindergarten this is a huge deal!  The kids all bring in a 100th day project such as gluing 100 items to a poster or collecting 100 items in a jar or box.  Andrew found 100 cars and trucks and put them in a shoebox.  Another fun project was 100 suckers stuck in a foam board to make the number 100.  Here is a picture of Andrew's cars and trucks lined up.  10 rows of 10 cars....a little extra math thrown in for him!

And of course Grace had to be part of the project!  Thankfully she didn't ask us to find 100 of her toys to put in a box and take to school!

We are off to school this morning for the 100th day celebration!  Centers today will each be a different project about 100!  Enjoy your day!

This is.....

how we bowl!  We took the kids bowling today for the 1st time and it was so much fun!  These are only 2 of many, many pictures! 

Here are some pictures of what Grannylou has been working on while she has been here!  My friend from church showed us a project she thought we could work on while mom was here.  She only suggested the valentine one but of course I want one for every month!  The book shows a handprint quilt of each month of the year but I asked for monthly wall hangings so I will always have something to put up.  I don't always take time to decorate for holidays/seasons but this will be super easy!  Plus, I'm not making them!

Still here!

Andrew went back to school this week and I subbed 2 days, 1 of which was in his classroom.  I had a blast in his classroom.  It helps that I already know all the kids from volunteering.  It was tough on Andrew b/c I called on other kids. He had some tears throughout the day but we got through it.  I'll be there for 3 days in March so that will be interesting.  His teacher has a 3 day training and she asked me to sub for her.  I am so excited!  I love being in the classroom again!  I had planned on subbing as much as I could and putting Grace in a preschool/daycare 3 days a week but I've been struggling with that decision and decided to only sub at Andrew's school for the rest of this year.  There may be a few days that I can sub at other schools and have a friend watch Grace.  I probably won't get very many jobs since I'm choosing one school but Grace likes her preschool and she hasn't been handling all the changes very well. 

Tomorrow we plan to go to the snow!  Yes, we have to travel to the snow but it's not far.  We have a sled and the kids got some new snow gloves and boots and they are ready to go sledding.  Hopefully it won't be too crowded and we can have some fun!  Guess I better go charge my camera so I can post some pics!  Have a fabulous weekend!

Wordless Wednesday

SNOW!!!

Sometimes we even get snow in the desert! Can you believe it?  Tomorrow will probably be a snow day for David or at least half day!  There was so much traffic trying to get down the pass from New Year's weekend in Vegas and now most of them are caught on the freeway b/c of the weather.  Not sure if he'll be able to get down in the morning.  I worked tonight and it wasn't too bad until close to the end the snow really started and by the time we left our cars were covered and so was the parking lot and the roads!  We couldn't see the lines and it was really slick.  It took me 45-50 minutes to drive home which should have taken 25-30.  I drove about 25 mph most of the way. There was a small section that was fine but I still went kind of slow b/c you never know where you'll hit ice!  I have to say I was a little a lot nervous since we don't get much snow and I never drive in it! I took driver's training during winter in southern Illinois so I know how but I just haven't in many years! What an awesome New Year in the desert!

deleted picasa

Second post today scroll down to see our New Year's celebration.  I just deleted every single picture on my picasa desktop folder.  Does anyone else use this program and am I just out of luck?  I have pretty much everything saved on disk and some still in another folder on my computer but liked having it in picasa.  I was deleting an album and for some reason it deleted every picture and video on my computer.  I don't have the videos anywhere else except in picasa.  I'm so sad.
