Well, we are kind of back in the swing of things with school. Andrew is really enjoying first grade! Or course, there will always be things he doesn't like about school but we just have to get through it. I guess they played heads up, 7 up yesterday and he doesn't like that game at all. In fact he doesn't really like any games like that, including hot potato, musical chairs, etc. Anyway, he got through it and went back today with a half smile on his face!
The desk fairy has visited him a few times this year and leaves a rice krispie treat each time which makes him incredibly happy! Lunches have been a challenge but I'm working on finding ways to be more creative and get Andrew to eat.
We are also working on his first family science project. This month is a night sky project. No directions, just whatever we come up with as a family. We did the painting and now we have to put it all together.
We've been busy with birthday parties, basketball, school, and homework. Last weekend we had 3 birthday parties!!!
Well, I guess that catches you up for now. I'll be back soon with pictures!

1st Day of 1st Grade!!!
Andrew had a great first day of school. Daddy stayed home and made eggs and pancakes and drove him to school. We all went into the classroom and his eyes lit up when he found his desk. He was so proud of his little spot in the classroom! They didn't have name tags on their desk the first day of school last year so he was really excited! He also got to take a picture of his family to school today and share it with the class. He didn't really tell me too much about what he did at school except that they wrote the alphabet and numbers. He came home in a great mood which tells me he had a great day!

7 years
Today (Sunday) is our 7th wedding anniversary and on the 7th! Today I also completed my last class and am done with school! We went to church this morning and it was an awesome service! Then we had a little drama with the kids. I got a couple deals at Walgreens on some extra school supplies on the way home. Finally we went to a late lunch at Applebee's and did some shopping at Target. I had a few things to get for lunches now that school is starting again and some coupons I wanted to use. I actually save $18 in coupons while we were there and bought a Christmas present! Overall we had a good day and it was nice to get out just the 2 of us and enjoy our meal. We very rarely get out just the 2 of us. It was awesome to walk around Target and actually be able to think. We could have easily spent another hour or two in that store browsing. We'll definitely have to get a babysitter again soon for some more alone time and Christmas shopping.
I'll try to post a picture of us with our edible arrangement from my dad and Kathy! That was so sweet of them to think of us! We were really surprised! Our neighbors who have been married about 20 years longer than us are celebrating on Tuesday so we took it over and shared with them!
Tomorrow is Andrew's first day of school and I will be praying for him to have a good day and calm nerves. I know how anxious he can get and it is going to be all day now that he is a big first grader! I'm so nervous for him but I am trying to be very positive. He and I do not accept change very well or transition very well. I am very excited about his teacher. She is a Christian and attends our church and is just absolutely lovely. She is very structured and organized and I know it is going to be a fantastic year! We all just have 1st day jitters! I will post pictures and stories as soon as I can!
