Tee Ball

Finally!  Pictures of tee ball!  This week has been wonderful.  We've had beautiful weather that has allowed us to play outside.  I have pictures of the kids climbing the trees that I will put up this week as well.  Last night was our first tee ball game!  It was interesting to say the least.  The coach from the other team should definitely be coaching older kids (or not even at all).  The first inning was a little intense since most of our kids are just 5 and this is their first year.  Most of his players were 6 and 7 and  he got really disgusted with them when they couldn't hit the ball or tag out a runner.  Mind you, nobody is really out in tee ball.  They get to run the bases regardless but he didn't see it that way.  Thankfully, in the end, the other coach on his team followed the correct rules and we got through it.  So thankful for my husband and the other coach on our team for being more relaxed.  I couldn't ask for anyone better to coach these kids.  He keeps himself under control and praises the kids when they do something good and even when they mess up, he finds something nice to say!  Love that about him!  Here are the pictures!  Andrew is #9.
Warming up!  Look at that handsome coach on the left!  He's awesome!
Waiting to start!  A little crazy at the beginning but they got the hang of it!
 Andrew on third base.
Andrew hitting the ball!  Go Andrew!

Big Hit!   Go Twins!!!!!

The first game was a lot of fun.  We have practice on Friday and another game on Saturday!  Busy week!

What We've Been up to.....

This past week was spring break and we did nothing! Yep, the only day we left the house was on Thursday for Sonshine Choir practice.  It felt great to be out of the house.  It has been cold and SUPER windy the whole week!  In fact, the wind hasn't stopped at all.  The kids are playing out in it now because they are desperate to be outside (and their daddy is home and brave enough to go out with them)!  Here is what I have been doing all week:
writing papers and making a powerpoint presentation to go along with it!  Not so much fun by the way!  This is week 5 of 6 and there is a lot due this particular week.

Of course this left the kids entertaining themselves a lot this week b/c I spent so much time working on my projects because I knew that Sunday was not an option because of working and heading down the hill.  So here is how Grace entertained herself a lot this week:

She took a lot of pictures!  A couple times the memory card was out of the camera so who knows what pictures she took then!  They discovered the cartoon "Penguins of Madagascar" this week and have watch every episode we could find!  They (especially Grace) love playing that game on the leapster explorer.  So thankful this week is almost over and tomorrow after I work the morning service is family time with no computer!  I'm really excited for that.....this thing has been glued to me all week!  Well, there you go! Have a great weekend!  Next week is supposed to be mid 70's and I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

146 balloons

Found this fun idea a long time ago on HowDoesShe.  You should check out their site...they have some really great stuff!

Isn't that adorable?  I sure wish I had the door to go with it!  My friend Leigh made one a few months ago and I finally got around to it.  We have birthdays for the next 4 months in our house so it will get good use!  I also printed out a 16x20 poster to display from April-July.  I won't leave everything up the whole time but for sure during the week of the birthday!

Here's mine!  Since it is 10:00 at night I don't have a very good place to take a picture because of lighting.  I should wait til tomorrow and try to get a picture outside but I don't want to wait!

The one above is so much cuter than mine but I still like it!  I didn't have the same size balloons or colors but I just made it work!  I think the dark blue kind of throws the whole thing off but it looks way better in person than in the picture!

I have something else I'm making right now for Grace's party!  I took a break to make this and add a little spring to my house.  I'll show you that soon!

We are trying to enjoy our spring break but Andrew has been sick again.  Actually, I think he just never got rid of whatever he had.  He is on an allergy nose spray and just finished antibiotics so I'm debating whether or not to take him back to the doctor.  The weather here has been a little crazy and really windy which is causing a lot of people to have severe allergies.   Spring in the desert is not lovely.  Hope you are all having a great week!

St. Patrick's Day (a little late)

Finally got the pictures on my computer!  I even found a slot for my SD card right in the front of my computer.  I knew it had to have one but couldn't find it!  I still have a lot to learn about this computer!

I had a hard time getting a picture of Andrew that morning because I made him put on his tie and he got very upset and started crying so his face was very red and he had watery eyes in most of the pictures.  He has to wear a uniform to school and since the tie wasn't even a uniform color it upset him and he was scared he would get in trouble.  The school is not super strict with the uniforms although they do have to wear them, we are allowed to buy the uniforms anywhere and they don't have to be a specific brand.  Andrew is very much a rule follower (like his mama) and while that is a good thing, it can also be a bad thing when we are trying to goof off and have fun!  He has quite a bit of anxiety about that!

So here goes:

Normally I make shirts for the holidays but this year it didn't even cross my mind. I'm just trying to survive day to day.  The day before Grace went to her babysitter's house and I wasn't sure if she was going to school so I dressed her in her only green outfit she had and then she got peanut butter on it during the day.  So, I went searching in her closet and came up with a rainbow dress!  Perfect for St. Patrick's Day!  Or at least I think so!  These are my lucky charms!

Still here!

Well, I really thought I would get some pictures uploaded but I haven't yet.  I wasn't feeling well at the end of the week (and weekend) and we had Opening Day for tee-ball on Saturday.  I wish I had pictures of that day but it was really cold and incredibly windy and impossible to take pictures.  I actually forgot my camera but my hands were so full and I was so busy that I wouldn't have had time to take pictures anyway. Today Andrew has had a fever.  He just finished antibiotics for an ear infection but I don't think it helped the sinus infection which may be why he has the fever. That and some of his friends from school are also sick.  He is acting fine since I gave him the motrin.  He is taking allergy medicine but I'm not sure if he is having allergy trouble or sinus trouble so I don't know what he needs to take.  I have no desire to go back to the doctor right now so hopefully it won't last.

I just finished my 4th week of school today.  This week is going to be full of assignments.  I have an individual assignment that has 2 parts and will take a LOT of my time and then there is also a group assignment.  Of course I still have the 2 discussion questions and responses to get done.  Andrew is on spring break so we don't have to drive back and forth to school which is nice.  And now, with the fever it gives us a reason to stay home and get my work done!  The weather isn't that great right now either. It has been really, really windy for a few days and rainy.  Our wooden fence is falling down from the wind and my neighbor told me today hers is knocked down as well as their chain link fence.  They just put it up a few months ago so I feel bad for them.  The wind was brutal here.  I saw pictures of some trees down also.

Well, I'm sure that was boring enough so I'll go.  As soon as I locate my camera I will get the pictures on here for you!  Oh, and since I don't think I told you yet, I'm typing this on my new laptop!!!!!  We had trouble getting my other computer fixed from the virus so we went and bought a laptop!  It's so nice to be able to sit on the couch with the kids and do my school work instead of being stuck in my room!

My Not So Lucky Day

I wore my green today but it wasn't lucky for me!  Maybe the leprechauns knew I didn't make something green for the kiddos for breakfast.  Doesn't lucky charms count?  Or, maybe because I was a slacker and didn't make goody bags for Andrew's class like I had planned. I found an adorable idea that had chocolate coins in the bottom of a bag with rainbow twizzlers and a cute tag that said something clever.  There's always next year!  Of course, maybe because we didn't have even have dinner so forget making something special to mark the occasion!  It was just kind of a rotten day and I'm thankful that God is giving me another chance tomorrow.  I could really use a better day tomorrow and a chance to be a better mom and wife.  I'm sure I could be a better friend as well.

I got upset with the photo people at Costco (which was the last thing I attempted to do today) because they wouldn't let me have the invites for Grace's party because they have strawberry shortcake on them.  I got very upset and was kind of rude to the ladies working.  I wasn't just upset, I was really really mad! So mad, that when I left (hastily) I started crying in the parking lot!  It's not like I am selling these things!  I'm just inviting people to a party!  I worked on the dumb things for over 2 hours today trying to get it just right!  Anyway, I came home, found the dumb copyright info they want and called to make sure they still had the invites.  They asked if I wanted them to keep the invites so I could look for the info and I told them I didn't really care what they did with the invites!  The rule is stupid!  Well, while I had the girl on the phone I also apologized for my rude behavior.  It's very unlike me to be rude to people that deal with customers all day long.  They get a lot of crap throughout the day and I make it a point to add a little sunshine to their day by being polite! Well, today wasn't lucky!

That's part of my unlucky day and how I redeemed myself.  I'm pretty sure I should act this way to my family more often (not the ugly part, but the apologizing part).  So, here's to tomorrow and having a better day!  Oh, Grace and I will be going back to pick up the invites in the morning!  Now I have to show my face again.  I sure hope someone else is working.

virus

My computer has a virus so I'm not sure when I will be able to update or add pictures.  I borrowed a friend's laptop to do my school work tonight and tomorrow I will use a school computer to get my participation time in but I'm not sure how I will do anything this weekend.  I may get to know the library system really well!

Hope everyone is having a great week!  I'm hoping David and I are getting a new computer.  We'll have to see how much it is to fix this one.  UGH!!!!  BAD TIMING!!!!!  I can still get emails on my phone and check facebook but I can't update my blog.   See you soon (I hope)!

another random post

I'm into my 3rd week of class.  After this week I will be half way done with my first class. So far it hasn't been too bad.  Just a lot of reading and responding online. The group project was a little annoying and I think we have 4 during this class.  This week I have a power point to do.  I will probably spend all day at the library on Saturday to get it done.

Poor Andrew got pink eye this last weekend and his eye still doesn't look too good.  He is also coughing and really tired so I am going to take him in and see if it's allergies and get a new prescription.  Of course the last couple of days he has been complaining about his leg again.  Not sure about that but we'll mention it just in case.  I should probably keep a calendar of when he complains about it just in case.

Here are some pictures I took sometime over the last few weeks....

Andrew built this house but had trouble getting the roof to stay on.  He built it all by himself...windows, doors and all!

And here are some cookies the kids decorated.  I just gave them all the sugar and sprinkles and turned my back.  Can you imagine eating one of these things?
Gross, huh?  My teeth hurt just looking at them!  Well, that's all for today!  I'll leave you with this picture of Grace in bed for the night.....obviously not going to sleep!  Good night!

Finally....pictures!

Well, I haven't downloaded pictures from my camera in quite a while.  I still had valentine's pictures on there!  That's crazy!  Andrew had his second tee ball practice today.  He is on the Minnesota Twins.  We are part of the American Little League.  He is actually wearing an Angels shirt and hat because we don't have uniforms yet!

And here are the pillow pets they got for Valentine's Day!  Yeah, it's a little late to share the pics...
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!  We have a busy weekend ahead with school work and birthday parties and a memorial service for our neighbor's brother and work at church and then more school work!
