is already kicking my booty and it's only Monday! I have so much to do for school this week and I am working 4 days! Today was a work day and I am off tomorrow so I will have to do a lot of school work b/c I work the rest of the week. I'm super tired from today!
Grace took a nap at her babysitter's house so I may be up late with her and get some school work done. I really need a laptop so that I won't have to sit in this hard chair in my bedroom staring at the screen. At least on the couch I could get comfy and do other things like watch TV and the kids! But, I don't have a laptop and I don't see one in my future....although that would be a great birthday present David! It could get me through the summer since the kids will want to be out when it is nicer weather! I could just plop myself on the patio and work and have nice cold drink. I can see me now! It's a nice dream, isn't it!?!?
Today after school there was this little eye peeking into the classroom where I was and I thought it looked an awful lot like Andrew's eye. That's all I could see because it was a narrow window and he was barely tall enough to look in! I finally went over to check and his teacher had sent him to my class but I think he was a little intimidated to walk in. Poor guy! Even though they were only 1st graders, they were so much bigger! That's what I like about subbing in his school. I don't have any worries since he is right down the hall.
Well, as exciting as this is I will wrap it up for fear of boring you so that you never come back to see what we are up to. I promise I will find a picture for my next post. My camera battery is dead and I'm not even sure where it is to charge. I'll be back soon....and I know you are just dying to read my next post!

Day One
Today was my official first day of classes. I didn't really have to do anything today so I just worked on everything that is due the rest of the week. I have a lot done but have to finish up little things with each assignment but if you know me, I'm a procrastinator and some of my best work has been done at the last minute. I do much better under pressure. I didn't want it to come to that so I started working on all this a week ago but got myself so stressed out so now I am going to just take my time and get it done when it's due. I'm already ahead and I know the instructor will not want us to fail so she will help us through all of the assignments.
The flu is finally gone from our house. I never got sick but David and the kids both had it and it wasn't pretty. I'm still trying to keep everything wiped down and my hands constantly washed b/c I really can't afford to get sick now. I am working 4 days next week plus I have all this school work to do.
This is also the first week of tee ball for Andrew. David is the coach/manager of Andrew's team and they are the Twins. As soon as I have pictures I will post them. He is really excited and waiting for practice to start. We are supposed to practice on Tuesdays and Fridays but we don't have equipment yet so we can't start. It should be here this week and that will just add more to my stress level!!! But it will be exciting!
Have a great week! Hopefully I can get some pictures over the next couple of days to share.

Germs, Germs Go Away!
Well, as of Tuesday afternoon Andrew was officially feeling better and began eating a little and was able to drink more fluids and keep it down! Wednesday he went back to school and took his 3rd spelling test and got 100%! So far he has gotten 100% on all of his spelling tests! Yay Andrew!
Then Wednesday evening Grace started feeling really yucky and I took her temp and it was 103. It happened so fast! She just sat on my lap on the couch and eventually fell asleep around 6:15. Poor girl! We let her sleep for a while and then woke her up to change her into pj's and give her motrin and she went back to sleep until 6 this morning. She still had a fever of 102 when she woke up. Hopefully she won't get any worse. She is congested but not coughing very much.
Tonight is the science fair at Andrew's school. David is going to take him since Grace is sick. Well, he is taking him unless he comes home sick! He wasn't feeling the greatest last night. We'll see! They judged the projects yesterday and tonight they announce the winners. I wish I could go just to see all the hard work the kids (and parents) put into it but there's always next year! I'll have David take the camera so I can see some of it in pictures!
Well, that's about it from our house. Just germs and more germs! Hopefully I'll something more exciting to report in a couple days!

He Melts My Heart!
Look what Andrew made me! I was doing something with Grace and he came in the room with this valentine. He said he doesn't know how to write 'you' so he drew a picture of me instead! Love that little guy!
Sorry the picture is sideways but for some reason blogger kept turning the picture this way. I tried numerous times but it just wouldn't work!

A girl and her daddy....
Please excuse the quality of this picture and the condition of my house! It was very messy this night but I had to get this picture of Grace and her daddy and the things she got him to do! He was giving her ALL his attention this night and it meant the world to her! Yes, that is a baby doll stroller! At this point I'm really just hoping they will break so I can get rid of them. The kids are having a blast riding in them around the house and I'm so glad I found out my kids aren't the only ones that do this! I was talking to a friend on the phone the other day and she said her kids used to do this as well. Whew!
I don't think I even have to say anything about these pictures....priceless!

Happy Valentine's Day!
I tried to get pictures of Grace in the valentine skirt my mom made her but she didn't want to cooperate! Imagine that!
So then, I begged Andrew to get in the picture with her! He was so cooperative! I realize that her shirt isn't really a perfect match but this was last week and I didn't have her valentine shirt done yet!
I'll show pictures of valentine's day festivities soon!

It's Official!
No Training Wheels! Andrew learned how to ride his bike today with no training wheels!
This was after he fell over the front and got a handle bar in the chest. He chose to rest for a little while but they jumped back on!
Why yes, that is Grace wearing her nightgown in the middle of the day! And yes, she also slept in it! It has a princess on the front....do you really expect her to take it off?
We started out in our driveway which is sloped and not very long so we ended up at the neighbor's across the street. They weren't home (although we wish they would have caught us so they could have been cheering with us) and we spent the whole afternoon on the driveway. He took off almost immediately with daddy's help and it wasn't long before he could take off on his own! This was after he fell over the front and got a handle bar in the chest. Proud moment!
Taking a quick break!
Can you tell daddy is proud!?!?!?!

In a Funk....
OK, so a warning that I have no inspiration for this post....at all! Just wanted to warn you that I might ramble...but I'll try to throw in a picture at the end :) I'm in a funk right now for numerous reasons. One being that I was accused of doing something that I cannot recall. I basically just have to take the blame and nobody gets to hear my side or even ask me what happened. It was just assumed that I did it. I really don't want to show my face again at school.
Also, I had a sick kid yesterday. Andrew had a fever and some tummy troubles. Not sure what it was but the fever is gone and he is playing today. Today was already a holiday at school so he gets an extra day to take it easy. Grace is a little stuffy this morning so maybe she is going to start with this awful virus that is going around. I can only hope that we won't go any further with getting sick b/c it is a really nasty virus.
I'm starting some online classes on Tuesday. Did I already tell you that? I can't remember but it's for a certificate that I have to get if I ever want to teach in CA again. They are graduate level courses and I'm a little intimidated. My counselor told me that I will probably be overwhelmed for the first class and then it will get easier. Each class is 6 weeks so this is what I will be doing for the next 6 months. Fun!
Excuse the quality of these pictures. Andrew actually took both of these. This is how Grace chose to dress for about 2 weeks. She had to wear that tutu everyday and her plastic princess shoes. Everyone could hear her coming! It was kind of annoying while it was happening b/c I had to coordinate outfits to match the pink tutu and convince her to wear the clothes I picked. It was also very cold during this time and it was hard to get socks on her. Lately she wants to wear her princess nightgowns everywhere...church, school, store, even outside to play. She is so silly! Well, I guess that wraps it up. Kind of put me in a better mood to see these pictures again after a couple weeks.

I Feel....
HAPPY!!!!!
Wanna know why?!?!?!?!
This is why:
I was so happy to turn it in today. I think it turned out ok. We used 3 different dish soaps. We added 2 cups of water and 2 drops of dish soap and shook the canister for 30 seconds. Then we measure the bubbles from the water line to see how tall the bubbles were. In the end Palmolive Oxy made the most bubbles. So, if you like a lot of bubbles go with Palmolive. But in reality the companies add surfactants to the dish soap to make a lot of bubbles. It really has nothing to do with how well the soap works. I use a more natural dish soap and it has very little bubbles. And although I know they aren't needed for some reason I still want to see a lot of bubbles.
I'm thrilled that it's over and turned in. After school we are going with a friend from his class to get a frosty and celebrate! I can't think of a better way to wrap up a crazy week!

Science Project
Andrew and I have been working on his science project that is due on Friday. Well, I'VE been working on it A LOT!!!! He was able to help me with the experiment part but the rest of it was all me. I've been typing and printing and placing all the info on the board. Last night I made the chart and graphs and ordered the pictures.
I went to Target today for some retail therapy (after another ridiculous morning with my sweet 3 year old) and meant to pick up the pictures that were waiting but I forgot. I actually only needed trash bags and the pictures but I got a starbucks coffee (decaf+vanilla+latte=YUM), trash bags, valentine socks, Chargers jersey (clearance) for Andrew, plastic storage containers, granola bars, cheez-its party mix, green works cleaner, pledge, hot wheels plate, a $5 clearance sweater for me, Valentine plates and napkins, and valentine boxes (for teacher gifts)....you know all the necessities!!!! Actually the ONLY thing I NEEDED was trash bags (which I got) and the pictures (which I forgot). I saw an I SPY book for the Tag reader on clearance for $9 b/c it had been opened and I was really tempted to buy it but then looked in my cart and kept walking!
Right now Andrew is in the other room reading a book to Grace about animals. It's a book about zoo animals. He is doing really well and I just heard him read the words "excellent swimmers." Also, "Sea Lions spend their time swimming and fishing and make a loud noise that sounds like barking." He had to sound out a few words but he finally got to the end and got all the words correct except he had trouble with 'sounds'. I can't believe how well he is reading right now! I love that he loves to read and is doing so well with it! He also had his first spelling test today and got 100%.
On February 15th, I'm going to start taking classes online to earn a certificate that I need if I ever want to teach in this state again. I will take 4 classes (6 weeks each) and it will take 6 months to complete. I'm sure I'm adding more to my plate than I should but I need to get it done just in case. Life will be busy with birthdays and summer and online classes.
Well, that's about all for now. Think I'll go have some more girl scout cookies!
