6th Birthday

Wow!  Where did the last week and a half go?  Grace turned 6 and we had a tea party.  She had 6 friends that came and it was really fun.  I loved having just her best friends there and not a huge party to entertain.  The girls played dress up, put on makeup, and used real tea cups and saucers.  My mom made the place mats, napkins, aprons, and sent the teacups to us.  She also sent us the table cloths and lace to use.  She saved me a LOT of time by doing all of that for me.  Here are some pictures.

As a party favor the girls each got a hat, purse, and apron.  They also took home their place mat, napkin, and name card.  They loved wearing the hats during the party and they turned out perfect for the tea party.  We had an extra table set up but a few of the girls didn't show up that we were expecting so they all got to sit at one table instead which was better anyway!
Our friend (and babysitter) made the cake and cupcakes.  If you click on a picture further down, you will be able to see them a little closer.  She did such a fantastic job and all of the little tea cups and tea pot on top were made of white chocolate on sticks.

The girls are waiting to be served.  They wanted us mommies to serve them their lunch like in a restaurant.  I kept busy refilling tea cups (with pink lemonade).
The boys wanted nothing to do with the tea party so I set up a table in the hallway and they stayed out there.  I used mason jars for them with mustache straws and bandana napkins.

I love the above picture.  We didn't really see her open any gifts because the girls were all huddled around her.  I love it!  They were so sweet.
I painted this wooden frame (from Michaels) and put pearls on each girl before taking their picture which I am sending in their thank you card.  Grace personally wrote each thank you card using her own words and each one is different.  She amazes me with her creativity!
Best friend!!!  I meant to get a picture of them together in the frame but it didn't happen :(  I do have a picture of myself and Grace but I think it is on my phone instead.
 Another best friend :)

All of the party guests and the birthday girl!  As much as I love having the whole family and a big party, this was just perfect for a Sunday afternoon party!
Happy 6th Birthday Grace!  We are so proud of you and love you so much!  I can't wait to celebrate many more birthdays with you!

Easter

We colored eggs and then had an egg hunt at the neighbor's house.  They were very spoiled on Easter this year.  Here are a few pics of coloring eggs, baskets, and my beautiful kids!  Looking at these pictures make me realize how quickly my kids are growing up.

These were the baskets at our house.  They also got baskets from our awesome neighbors who had the bunny come a day early because they were leaving town, and then got something from great grandma and great grandpa also!
Grandpa and his kiddos.  The background in this picture looks fake to me.  Not sure what it is but they almost look placed in the picture.  This is actually great grandma and grandpa's house in their backyard. I love how green their backyard it!
And here is a picture of my grown up kiddos!  Grace has to pose in every single picture and always has her arm around her brother for pictures.  It's so sweet!  Hope everyone had a great Easter.

Rewind to Febrary.....again

Backing up to February 20th......we had a snow day!  Crazy!!!  They kept saying we would have snow and of course we hoped for snow!  Well, we got it that day!  I was just waking up at 5 am to get ready for school when the phone rang and I was so excited to find out I could go back to bed!!!  The snow was almost all gone by noon but it was a really fun morning!

Guess who....

lost her first tooth!!!!  She was so incredibly excited and wanted to call everyone that she knew including her favorite proctor at school!  She ended up calling one of my friends to tell her because she just HAD to tell someone!  I'm sure everyone at the school knows that she lost her tooth!

Hopefully you don't get grossed out by freshly pulled teeth because the next picture is of the hole in her mouth!  The tooth next to it is already loose because the other tooth was already coming in behind the baby teeth.  Scroll down quickly if you don't want to see the icky picture ;)  Papa Rick, we need to find a time that everyone is home to skype because they are growing up way too fast!  Grace is reading by herself and losing teeth.  Email or message me your schedule and when you are available to get on the computer to talk to the kids.

Next post......Easter pictures and believe it or not, Grace turns 6 on Sunday!  I'm planning a small party for her friends this weekend.  Well, I haven't done much planning actually.  I have an idea in my head and I'm keeping it simple with a small tea party, one game, cake and presents.
