The Race

The weekend was full of races. Nascar came to Southern Cali this weekend and we go to every race. Well, David goes to every race and I go to at least one a year. David and Andrew went on Saturday to the Nationwide race and then David and I went on Sunday to the Sprint Cup race and got to see Andrew's favorite driver, Jimmie Johnson, win the race! We were so excited! Now, we are not Jimmie fans but our favorite driver, Dale Jr, does not do well at this track and well, not really at many of the tracks so we chose to cheer on Jimmie Johnson for Andrew. It was one of the more exciting races we have been to for a while. Lots of lead changes and an exciting last couple of laps as Jimmie Johnson almost lost the lead. It rained a little and caused a delay but other than that it was a great day. There were dark clouds all around and it looked like it would rain any second for most of the day but except for a short shower there was nothing!We've been busy around here. I'm trying to catch up on laundry so I can really start on the house. Monday I began cleaning out cabinets and getting rid of stuff. My give away pile is growing! Today I got dinner in the crock pot before leaving for the library. Tonight is Angel Chicken. I can't remember where I got the recipe but I got it from a blog recently so if it's good I will post the recipe and keep looking for the blog I got it from. After the library we came home and I started on the laundry, made more granola, and an apple cake. I must have been lucky last week when I made the granola for the first time and it turned out so great b/c last night I burned a batch. Well, that may have been b/c I was talking to Stephanie on the phone and didn't set a timer. Today I don't think I cooked it long enough so it isn't really sticking together but I'm just letting it set out for a while and then hopefully when I store it, it won't all fall apart. At least I didn't burn it this time!

I guess that's about all for now! Tomorrow is another busy day...Andrew has school and then we have a playdate and I have my follow up appt from my d&c. We'll see what the doctor has planned! 'See' you all soon!
