4 yr checkup and more

Grace had her 4 year checkup today and along with that comes immunizations.  I really dread these visits.  It's so sad because they are helpless and it hurts.  She was really good.  She didn't want to do it but she sat on the table like a big girl and took the first one like a champ and then realized it hurt and tried to pull away for the second one.  By the third shot she was pretty mad but still sitting up on the table.  The girl had to move to the other arm for the 3rd shot so Grace had time to get really mad.  She had to get a tetanus shot and an MMR which are both painful and cause fevers which she now has.  It is at 102 but I'll be surprised if it doesn't go higher.  I gave her tylenol just a few minutes ago so hopefully that will bring it down a bit.  She also has pink eye.  I wasn't convinced it was pink eye until I went in to check on her and her eye was matted shut.  That means Andrew probably has it as well because he was complaining that his eye was itching also.  I only had one bottle of drops tonight so I used it for both of them.  I gave them drops just in case. Glad I did so it will be working that much faster.  I will call the doctor in the morning and ask for more drops so they each have their own.  I don't want to make this whole thing worse.  Gee, I feel like it was just last week that everyone was sick!

Andrew also had a check up for his allergies and was put on an extra medication because just the nose spray alone isn't working.  Plus, he has an ear infection so he's on an antibiotic.  He had an ear infection in the same ear a month ago so I'm sure it just didn't go away.  We have another follow up appt for him in 3 weeks to get it checked.  Have I mentioned that I dislike living here?  The wind is really crazy for allergies.  I know people have allergies everywhere but I've had Andrew back in IL in the summer and fall and he didn't have any issues.  Out here he always has reddish purple circles around his eyes and a little congestion.  The only time he is fine is in winter when it's consistently cold.  If we get a warm day or two then it's all over.  He's also good when we don't have wind but that is rare.  The wind picks up around noon (almost) every.single.day.

Other than the above mentioned, we are doing great.  I'm busy with school and kids.  We got a new (used) car for David to drive to work and it has a/c.  Last year he drove a car with no a/c and it was miserable.  I drove it on the weekends and we just couldn't do it again this summer.  I'm actually driving it this week but I won't get it for long because it will warm up and he'll need it.  It's a Honda Civic, 4 door, silver(dark).  It's really nice and gets good gas mileage.  Just what we need! :)

Well, I guess that updates you for this week.  If we can all get better (enough) by Friday I am going to Andrew's class to help with his egg hunt.  So far only a couple kids have brought in eggs so it looks like I will be putting together a lot of eggs so they can have fun and hunt away!   Hope you all have an awesome week.
