6th Birthday

Wow!  Where did the last week and a half go?  Grace turned 6 and we had a tea party.  She had 6 friends that came and it was really fun.  I loved having just her best friends there and not a huge party to entertain.  The girls played dress up, put on makeup, and used real tea cups and saucers.  My mom made the place mats, napkins, aprons, and sent the teacups to us.  She also sent us the table cloths and lace to use.  She saved me a LOT of time by doing all of that for me.  Here are some pictures.

As a party favor the girls each got a hat, purse, and apron.  They also took home their place mat, napkin, and name card.  They loved wearing the hats during the party and they turned out perfect for the tea party.  We had an extra table set up but a few of the girls didn't show up that we were expecting so they all got to sit at one table instead which was better anyway!
Our friend (and babysitter) made the cake and cupcakes.  If you click on a picture further down, you will be able to see them a little closer.  She did such a fantastic job and all of the little tea cups and tea pot on top were made of white chocolate on sticks.

The girls are waiting to be served.  They wanted us mommies to serve them their lunch like in a restaurant.  I kept busy refilling tea cups (with pink lemonade).
The boys wanted nothing to do with the tea party so I set up a table in the hallway and they stayed out there.  I used mason jars for them with mustache straws and bandana napkins.

I love the above picture.  We didn't really see her open any gifts because the girls were all huddled around her.  I love it!  They were so sweet.
I painted this wooden frame (from Michaels) and put pearls on each girl before taking their picture which I am sending in their thank you card.  Grace personally wrote each thank you card using her own words and each one is different.  She amazes me with her creativity!
Best friend!!!  I meant to get a picture of them together in the frame but it didn't happen :(  I do have a picture of myself and Grace but I think it is on my phone instead.
 Another best friend :)

All of the party guests and the birthday girl!  As much as I love having the whole family and a big party, this was just perfect for a Sunday afternoon party!
Happy 6th Birthday Grace!  We are so proud of you and love you so much!  I can't wait to celebrate many more birthdays with you!
