Still waiting.....
Still waiting for my new computer to get fixed. Last night we had fun with good friends. We had a BBQ and played a new to us card game. It was a lot of fun and only one fight and it was between my own kids! Thankful for good friends! Heading to a birthday party today at the skating rink and the kids get to use their new roller blades. They are so excited!! Hopefully I can get my computer back this week and get some pictures on here. We are waiting for the recovery disk to get here so my friend can attempt to fix it. I'm kind of lost without my computer and pictures. Of course I'm really hoping I don't have to buy a new computer. Well, I'm off to get ready for our day!

Good Luck with your computer .. I hope you can get it going again!! The motherboard went out on my computer and I just bought a new one .. with Windows 8 .. I also bought a big thick "Windows 8 .. All In One .. for DUMMIES" book to go with it!!! I'm happy to say it's not as frustrating as I thought it would be .. I think I might even end up liking it!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy hard drive went bad. My friend saved all my stuff and is fixing it for me. Hoping he can get it going with the recovery disk. At least he saved my pictures and documents. I just don't want the extra expense. Hoping to have it back soon. I love my iPad but not for blogging!!
ReplyDeleteHow fortunate he was able to save all your stuff .. that was my big concern when mine first went bonkers on me .. but the guy I took it to was able to copy my documents and pics to a flash drive for me .. I was soooo happy that I hadn't lost everything. He said it would be more expensive for him to put in a new motherboard and fix it than to buy a new one. I'd had that one for over 5 years so I guess it was time for it to go!!!
ReplyDeleteI think from now on when I download pics .. if they're pics I want to keep forever I am going to download them to the computer and then copy them to a flash drive. I'm also going to do better about copying things to my external hard drive .. Would save me a lot of stress when this computer decides to bite the dust!!!

Yes, most of mine was saved onto an external drive but he saved it all again just in case. I think it happened because grace was carrying it to me while it was on and she tripped and fell. Lesson learned.....next time I will do it myself. I was rushing around and asked her to push print and she couldn't figure it out so I told her to bring me the laptop. Oops!! He said computers can survive drops just not while they are turned on. If he can fix it, it will cost me way less than a new one.
