Can't think of a title

Today was a good day. I got up and went to the store this morning and was back home by 9:45. The kids and David were outside taking care of the weeds. Andrew was on his little tractor picking up the piles with the scoop. It was really cute. Oh, and Grace was really excited when I pulled in the driveway. She started yelling "Mom mom, mom mom" and ran for me to pick her up. It is a rare occasion that anyone gets excited for me to walk through the door. I was thrilled with her snotty nose kiss. Yes, she has a yucky nose. I think it is allergies....great idea to work in the dirt with her, huh? Not daddy's fault, I let them do it. It was really warm here today and didn't get breezy until afternoon and that wasn't bad. It was awesome to be outside.

While they worked out front, I pulled weeds in the back around the trees and grapevines. I have 3 cucumber vine sprouting. I had a couple more but they didn't make it. Not sure what happened...maybe little feet of a particular little girl that likes to help mommy in the garden stepped on them. Grace has no concept of not stepping on green plants....hello, we step on the grass...how would she know not to step on the plants. She is so funny trying to help me and stumbling everywhere while I am trying to keep her off all the poor plants.

While Grace was taking a nap, David and Andrew sat in the front yard and flew a kite. It was so cute to see. That was his first time flying a 'real' kite.

While they were having fun flying a kite I was raking Chewee. It's a huge job to get all the hair out from the winter. I'm going to work on getting as much out this week so he can get a bath next weekend. If I can't get it all done then I am going to call someone and have them do it. It is totally worth the 50 or 60 dollars for someone else to do it. Of course David doesn't think so...but he doesn't brush them. He says they're just going to get dirty again anyway. Well, so are the kids but we bathe them regularly.

Well, have a great night and Sunday. I'm off to check out the new train track that Daddy and the kids built together. Not sure how much help they were. I wouldn't do it with them. He is much more patient than me. Love to all!

  1. I know some adults that can't tell a weed from a plant! I bet Grace is a lot of help!
