Well we are working on Andrew's room to update it a little. He has had the same room decor since we decorated it for his nursery. He is beginning to get a little too old for it and we had too many different things in there like Thomas the Train and Nascar and Disney Cars. Now it is just going to be Nascar. Tomorrow we are painting the walls gray and his closet doors red. That is mainly because he wants a red wall and since his closet is most of his wall I think we are just gonna do it! Mom is making him an awesome quilt for his bed and she made a checkered valance. We aren't putting a border back up right now b/c they are so expensive. I'm just trying to make it look kind of like a garage with the black and white checkered curtains and quilt I don't think we'll need the border. We have some framed posters to hang up and mom also made a couple checkered flags. Here's where we are so far.......curtains and a lamp. Oh and the poster we framed hanging on the wall. We'll put it in a better place after we paint!

Here are pics of the kids trying to get the rest of the border off the wall. It came off in sections. First the picture peeled right off and then we had to get the paper and glue off and now we are scrubbing the wall to get it ready to paint.
And now, the gift for Mrs. Green (a magnetic board) and a picture of Andrew with Mrs. Green at Back to School Night!
He was so proud of his classroom and enjoyed showing us around! His 2 best friends were even there at the same time which made it better. I met the parents of the boys and the 3 boys always play together and talk about each other at home! I hear a lot about Denver and Chad and their parents said the same thing! There's been more activity around here that involves me and a sewing machine! I'll post again another day about that!
Hi Melissa, WOW!!! I cannot believe how much you and your Mother have accomplished. As my granddaughter Maddy would say, GOOD JOB!!! Andrew will really like his new room!! Also, you made an awesome gift for the teacher. I bet she really liked it!! You are so talented. See, I told you everything would work out great! How is David's job going? I know you enjoy having him home early too!! I think you said that he gets to come home for lunch also. That is terrific. It is beautiful weather here.I am going to get my hair colored and styled today and hope for the best.(LOL)We are going to the Bullbash tonight at the rodeo arena. That will be fun. Kyle made a touchdown last night and would have made another one if they had not had a flag on the play. Tomorrow, I am going to Lucas's football game in Casey. Then, Mark and his fiance and little boy may come down and watch the Labor Day parade with us. We are invited to Katrena's for a Labor day lunch after the parade. I will be anxious to see what Andrew's room looks like when it is finished. I am glad he likes school and has good friends. That is a plus !! Have a great Labor Day weekend!!Love, Kathy
ReplyDeleteHis room is coming together. I love red walls and it sounds like Andrew does too. I bet you are loving having Gram visit. When they are around everything seems easier and possible. Don't forget it really easy to decorate cheaply. Find a cool Nascar pic on the internet, blow it up and print it out at Walmart and buy a frame at the Dollar Tree or thrift store. Have fun.
